ISO 7998:2005 - Ophthalmic optics - Spectacle frames - Lists of equivalent terms and vocabulary provides a standardized vocabulary for spectacle frame parts and construction. The second edition (2005) defines commonly used terms and gives lists of equivalent terms in multiple languages - English, French, Russian, German, Italian, Spanish, American English, Japanese (with phonetic transcription) and Chinese - to support consistent technical communication across the ophthalmic optics and eyewear industries.
