Overview
ISO 8074:1985 establishes critical requirements for the surface treatment of austenitic stainless steel parts used in the aerospace industry. Developed by ISO Technical Committee ISO/TC 20 - Aeronautics and Space, this international standard specifies practical methods for effectively removing contaminants and achieving optimal corrosion resistance. The treatments addressed during manufacturing are mandatory for all surfaces, while final surface treatments are required unless a specific surface coating is applied.
