ISO 8096:2005 specifies the requirements for water vapour permeable and non water vapour permeable coated fabrics suitable for use in the construction of water penetration resistant clothing. The standard does not address the method of fabrication of the garment.

Overview
ISO 8096:2005 - “Rubber- or plastics-coated fabrics for water-resistant clothing - Specification” defines performance, sampling and testing requirements for used to produce water penetration resistant garments. The standard covers both and coated fabrics and specifies minimum values for water penetration resistance (WPR), mechanical strength, colour fastness and other physical properties. It does cover garment fabrication or construction methods.
