ISO 8323:1985 - "Freight containers - Air/surface (intermodal) general purpose containers - Specification and tests" defines the basic and detailed requirements for intermodal general‑purpose freight containers intended primarily for fixed‑wing aircraft and surface transport (road, rail, sea). It sets design rules, dimensional limits, marking and airworthiness considerations, and a test programme to verify strength, handling and weatherproofness.
