Overview
ISO 8421-2:1987 is the International Organization for Standardization vocabulary for structural fire protection. Published by ISO/TC 21 (Equipment for fire protection and fire fighting) in March 1987, this part of provides clear English definitions of terms used in building and structural fire safety, with a French alphabetical index. It is a terminology standard - not a performance or testing specification - intended to harmonize language used by engineers, architects, regulators and emergency services.
