ISO 9346:2007 defines physical quantities and other terms in the field of mass transfer relevant to buildings, building elements and systems, building components and building materials. For physical quantities the standard also gives the corresponding symbols and units.

ISO 9346:2007 - Hygrothermal performance of buildings and building materials - Physical quantities for mass transfer - Vocabulary - is an international terminology standard that defines the physical quantities, symbols and units used for mass transfer (vapour and moisture transport) in buildings, building elements, components and materials. This second edition (2007) updates the 1987 version and harmonizes terms used in building hygrothermal science (for example, replacing “moisture” with water vapour in several definitions and aligning the symbol for relative humidity to ϕ).
