Abstract
Overview
ISO 9692-4:2003, "Welding and allied processes - Recommendations for joint preparation - Part 4: Clad steels", provides guidance on joint preparation specifically for clad steels. It is part of the ISO 9692 series and gives recommended types of joint designs and dimensions to achieve sound welded joints where a parent metal is covered by a cladding layer. The standard is intended to be used alongside welding practice guidance (see EN 1011-5 / ISO TR 17671-5 for welding of clad steels).
