Abstract
Overview
ISO/IEC 14496-15:2024/Amd 1:2025 is an amendment to the international standard for the carriage of network abstraction layer (NAL) unit structured video in the ISO base media file format. Developed by ISO and IEC, this amendment enhances the existing framework by introducing support for neural-network post-filter supplemental enhancement information (SEI) and refining mechanisms for signaling and processing SEI messages in video bitstreams. These updates improve how advanced video coding technologies, such as AVC, HEVC, and VVC, manage and deliver enhanced video experiences, particularly by incorporating neural network-driven post-processing and additional metadata signaling.
