Abstract
Overview
ISO/IEC 14763-3:2024 - Information technology - Implementation and operation of customer premises cabling - Part 3: Testing of optical fibre cabling - defines procedures, test equipment requirements and reporting practices for verification and acceptance testing of optical fibre cabling within customer premises. The standard covers both single‑mode and multimode fibre testing methods, including optical loss (attenuation), return loss, length, propagation delay, continuity, polarity and connector/interface verification. It also specifies practical test arrangements (launch/tail/test cords) and documentation requirements for reliable, repeatable measurements.
