Overview

ISO/IEC 16448:2002 defines the mechanical, physical and optical characteristics of the 120 mm DVD - Read-Only Disk to enable reliable interchange between disks and disk drives. The standard specifies disk Types (A–D), nominal capacities, the format of recorded signals, data frame and sector layout, error correction and modulation methods, conformance conditions, and the operating, test and storage environments needed to ensure interoperability.
