Overview
ISO/IEC 24708:2008 - BioAPI Interworking Protocol (BIP) - defines how BioAPI-conforming applications can request biometric operations and receive event notifications from BioAPI-conforming Biometric Service Providers (BSPs) across node or process boundaries. The standard specifies the syntax, semantics and encodings of BIP messages and the extensions to the BioAPI framework required to create, send, receive and process those messages. ISO/IEC 24708 applies to all distributed BioAPI applications and enables interoperable, vendor-neutral integration of biometric components over networks or between processes.
