ISO/IEC 29182-6:2014, describes and provides a compilation of sensor network applications for which International Standardized Profiles (ISPs) are needed, guidelines for the structured description of sensor network applications, and examples for structured sensor network applications. It does not cover ISPs for which drafting rules are described in ISO/IEC TR 10000. Due to the generic character of ISO/IEC 29182, fully developed ISPs will not be included in this International Standard.

Overview
ISO/IEC 29182-6:2014 is Part 6 of the Sensor Network Reference Architecture (SNRA) series. It defines a structured catalogue of sensor network applications for which International Standardized Profiles (ISPs) are needed and provides guidelines for describing sensor network applications. The standard supplies worked examples (for instance, mobile asset management in hospitals and container monitoring in global supply chains) and clarifies what information is required to document application use-cases. It does not publish fully developed ISPs and excludes ISPs governed by ISO/IEC TR 10000 drafting rules.
