ISO/IEC 29199-2:2020 specifies the JPEG XR image coding system - Part 2: Image coding specification. This international standard defines the syntax, semantics and decoding process for the JPEG XR compressed image format, designed primarily for continuous‑tone photographic content. The 2020 (fourth) edition replaces the 2012 edition, incorporates Amend.1:2017, and is technically identical to .
