ISO/IEC 7816-10:1999

Overview

ISO/IEC 7816-10:1999 defines the electrical signals and Answer-to-Reset (ATR) behavior for synchronous integrated circuit(s) cards with contacts. It specifies how a synchronous smart card (two types: type 1 and type 2) presents power, clock and I/O signaling to an interface device (terminal), how the card is reset, and how the initial 32‑bit header (ATR header) is formatted and timed so the terminal can determine compatibility.
