ISO/IEC 8823-1:1994

Overview

ISO/IEC 8823-1:1994 - “Information technology - Open Systems Interconnection - Connection-oriented presentation protocol: Protocol specification” - defines the connection-oriented presentation protocol for the OSI reference model. Published as the second edition (consolidating the 1988 edition and amendments), it specifies the procedures, functional units and the structure and encoding of presentation-protocol-data-units (PPDUs) used to transfer data and control information between peer presentation entities. The standard also sets out conformance criteria for implementations, while noting it does not include product test suites.
