This document specifies methods for measuring the resolution and the spatial frequency response (SFR) of digital cameras. It is applicable to the measurement of both monochrome and colour cameras which output digital data.

Overview - SIST ISO 12233:2025 (ISO 12233:2024)
SIST ISO 12233:2025 specifies standardized methods for measuring and of digital cameras. Applicable to both , the fifth edition (identical to ) replaces the previous edition and clarifies normative algorithms and test-chart guidance. The standard defines test conditions, measurement procedures and reporting practices to produce repeatable, comparable resolution and SFR metrics.
