Abstract
Overview
EN IEC/IEEE 62582-2:2026 specifies the standard method for condition monitoring of electrical equipment in nuclear power plants using indenter measurements. This part, adopted without modification from IEC/IEEE 62582-2:2022, details procedures for assessing the condition of polymeric and organic materials-such as cable jackets, insulation, and O-rings-by measuring changes in their hardness. These measurements are critical for effective ageing management and help ensure the ongoing safety and reliability of instrumentation and control systems important to nuclear safety. The standard is published under the auspices of CLC as a harmonized European Standard.
