Abstract
Overview
EN ISO 105‑P01:1995 (identical to ISO 105‑P01:1993) specifies a standardized method for determining colour fastness to dry heat (excluding pressing) for textiles. The method evaluates how textile colours resist exposure to dry heat used to stabilise fabric size and form. It provides three temperature-level tests and a reproducible procedure for sample mounting, heating, conditioning and assessment.

- Specimen construction: Test specimens are placed in contact with specified adjacent fabrics: either a multifibre adjacent fabric or two single‑fibre adjacent fabrics (one matching the tested fibre, the other polyester). Sewing methods and sizes are defined to ensure reproducibility. A non‑dyeable fabric can be included if required.
- Conditioning and assessment: After heating, specimens are left for 4 hours in the standard atmosphere (ISO 139) - normally 20 °C ± 2 °C and 65 % ± 2 % RH (tropical alternative: 27 °C ± 2 °C). Colour change and staining are evaluated using the grey scales (ISO 105‑A02 for change, ISO 105‑A03 for staining).
- Test report requirements: Report must include identification details, test temperature, numerical ratings for colour change and staining, type of adjacent fabrics and other pertinent information.
