Overview
EN ISO 11846:2008 is an international standard developed by CEN, adopted from ISO 11846:1995, that specifies methods for determining the resistance to intergranular corrosion of solution heat-treatable aluminium alloys. This standard applies to both cast and wrought aluminium alloys in various forms, including castings, forgings, plates, sheets, extrusions, and semi-finished or finished parts without protective coatings. By defining standardized testing procedures, EN ISO 11846:2008 enables manufacturers and users to perform comparative assessments of alloy grades and thicknesses based on chemical composition, manufacturing processes, and thermal treatment quality.
Key Topics
