Overview
EN ISO 13503-3:2022 - "Petroleum and natural gas industries - Completion fluids and materials - Part 3: Testing of heavy brines" (CEN adoption of ISO 13503-3:2022) specifies test requirements for heavy brine fluids used in oil and gas well drilling, completion and workover operations. The standard covers the physical properties, potential contaminants and laboratory test procedures for heavy brines (including potassium and cesium formate brines and their blends). It supplements API RP 13J (5th edition, 2014) by providing revised and more suitable test methods where API procedures are not appropriate for formate brines.
