Overview
EN ISO 1402:2021 - Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies - Hydrostatic testing specifies standardized methods for hydrostatic testing of rubber and plastic hoses and hose assemblies, including procedures to determine dimensional stability. Published by CEN/ISO in 2021, this standard updates prior editions and defines how to prepare, pressurize, inspect and report hydrostatic test results for quality, safety and compliance purposes.

- Proof pressure hold test (inspect for leakage, cracking, distortions; hold typically 30–60 s; pressure tolerance +10%).
- Measurement of deformation under pressure (change in length, external diameter, twisting, warping).
- Burst pressure and leakage tests.
- Reporting: Test report requirements are specified (see Clause 9).
