EN ISO 17947:2023 (adoption of ISO 17947:2014) defines standardized methods for chemical analysis of fine silicon nitride powders used as raw materials for fine ceramics (advanced/technical ceramics). The document covers sample preparation (sampling, drying, weighing), analytical procedures and reporting rules for determining total silicon, total nitrogen, aluminium, iron, calcium, oxygen, carbon, fluorine and chlorine in silicon nitride powders.
