This document specifies the requirements for three types, three classes and two categories of textile-reinforced rubber hose for compressed air, up to a maximum working pressure of 2,5 MPa (25 bar) with an operating-temperature range of −40 °C to +70 °C, depending on the type and category.

Classification
- Types by pressure rating: Type 1 (1.0 MPa / 10 bar), Type 2 (1.6 MPa / 16 bar), Type 3 (2.5 MPa / 25 bar).
- Classes by oil resistance: Class A (non-oil-resistant), B (normal oil resistance), C (good oil resistance).
- Categories by temperature range: N-T (−25 °C to +70 °C), L-T (−40 °C to +70 °C).
Materials & construction
- Hose construction: rubber lining, textile reinforcement (natural or synthetic), rubber cover.
- Lining and cover must be uniform, concentric and free from defects; cover may be smooth or fabric-marked.
Dimensions & tolerances
- Inside diameters and tolerances specified for hose sizes from 4 mm to 102 mm (see Table 1).
- Concentricity tolerance: ≤ 1.0 mm for inside diameters up to 76 mm; ≤ 1.5 mm for larger sizes.
- Length tolerances follow ISO 1307.
Minimum thickness
- Type 1: lining 1.0 mm / cover 1.5 mm
- Type 2: lining 1.5 mm / cover 2.0 mm
- Type 3: lining 2.0 mm / cover 2.5 mm
Physical properties
- Rubber compound requirements (lining and cover): minimum tensile strength 7.0 MPa, minimum elongation 250% (ISO 37).
- Ageing limits and liquid-resistance limits are specified (ageing: change in tensile ±25%, change in elongation ±50%; liquid resistance per ISO 1817 vary by class).
Testing, marking & documentation
- Normative type and routine tests defined (Annex A); testing frequency, test reports/certificates and marking requirements are included.
