This document specifies two methods of evaluating the resistance of rubber- or plastics-coated fabrics to the action of liquids by measurement of selected properties of the materials before and after immersion in selected liquids. The two methods are as follows: — Method A: total immersion with liquid; — Method B: one surface side immersion with liquid.

EN ISO 6450:2021 - "Rubber- or plastics-coated fabrics - Determination of resistance to liquids" specifies laboratory procedures to evaluate how rubber- or plastics-coated textiles respond to exposure to liquids. The standard defines two immersion test methods (total immersion and one-sided surface immersion), the test principle (measurement of selected properties before and after immersion), recommended immersion periods, conditioning and testing atmospheres, and safety/recording requirements. The 2021 edition adds Method B (one surface side immersion) and updates reporting requirements.
