ISO 7510:2017 specifies a method for the determination of constituent materials of a test sample cut from a glass-reinforced plastics (GRP) component intended for use in a piping system. It includes determination of resin, glass, aggregate and filler contents. It is also applicable to the determination of the type and arrangement of the reinforcements. If used to determine the amounts of constituent materials in layered constructions it may be necessary to separate the laminate layers by cutting or splitting and testing each separately.

EN ISO 7510:2024 - Plastics piping systems - Glass-reinforced plastics (GRP) components - Determination of the amounts of constituents (ISO 7510:2017) - specifies a laboratory method to quantify the constituent materials in GRP piping components. The procedure determines resin, glass, aggregate and filler contents (commonly via loss on ignition, LOI), and can be used to identify the type and arrangement of reinforcements in layered laminates. This European adoption supersedes EN 637:1994 and aligns with ISO 7510:2017.

- Notes on limitations: not suitable for reinforcements or fillers that decompose or lose weight under test conditions; small organic additives (sizing, veils) will be lost with resin and usually have negligible effect.
- Safety and limitations
- Method measures behaviour under controlled heating; it is not a fire-hazard assessment. Fire testing hazards must be managed by the laboratory.
