Abstract
Overview
EN ISO 8734:1997 specifies the characteristics of parallel pins (dowel pins) manufactured from through-hardened or case-hardened steel and from martensitic stainless steel. The standard covers nominal diameters from 1 mm to 20 mm inclusive, dimensional tolerances, material requirements, surface condition and acceptance inspection references. It is widely used in mechanical assembly, tooling and precision engineering where reliable location and shear resistance are required.
