Overview
IEC 61300-2-1:2023 (Edition 4.0) is the International Electrotechnical Commission test method for vibration (sinusoidal) applied to fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components. The standard evaluates the effects of vibration on optical attenuation across the predominant frequency ranges and magnitudes encountered in field service. Although real-world vibrations are often non‑harmonic, sinusoidal vibration tests (derived from IEC 60068-2-6, test Fc) are accepted as effective simulations. This fourth edition cancels IEC 61300-2-1:2009 and harmonizes test conditions with IEC 61753-1:2018 while revising severities.
