Abstract
Overview
IEC 61850-9-2:2011/AMD1:2020 is an amendment to the IEC 61850-9-2 international standard, focused on communication networks and systems for power utility automation. Specifically, it addresses the mapping of sampled values (SVs) over ISO/IEC/IEEE 8802-3, commonly known as Ethernet. The amendment brings updates and clarifications to the protocols, data structures, profile conformance, multicast addressing, synchronization mechanisms, and compatibility rules-ensuring enhanced interoperability, security, and network efficiency for modern digital substations and power automation systems.
