Overview
IEC 61909:2000 - Audio recording - Minidisc system defines the mechanical and electrical characteristics necessary to ensure the interchangeability of premastered optical discs and recordable magneto‑optical discs of (the MiniDisc, or MD, system). The standard specifies disc geometry, cartridge interfaces, optical pickup behavior, data formats and error‑control methods so that discs, players and recorders from different manufacturers operate compatibly.
