IEC SRD 63459:2026 defines a unified template for smart manufacturing (SM) use cases, supporting the efficient storage, search, comparison, and retrieval of use cases from varying sources, including different standards development organizations (SDOs). Developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), this standard provides clear guidance for compiling, structuring, and managing SM use cases within the IEC Use Case Management Repository (UCMR). The standard aims to harmonize the way use cases are described, leading to better interoperability, improved standardization, and more effective knowledge sharing across the smart manufacturing ecosystem.
