Abstract
Overview
IEC TS 62045-1:2006 is an International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) technical specification focused on safeguarding user privacy in multimedia equipment and systems, both when these products are actively used and when they are idle or out of service. The rise of multimedia consumer electronics-such as digital cameras, video recorders, televisions, audio players, PCs, and mobile devices-has dramatically increased the instances where personal data is stored, transmitted, or processed. This guideline provides a framework for recognizing, protecting, and managing private user data throughout the lifecycle of such equipment and systems, offering both technical and operational recommendations.
