Overview
IEC TS 62196-3-1:2020 specifies requirements for vehicle connectors, vehicle inlets and cable assemblies for DC conductive charging of electric vehicles that are intended to be used with a thermal management system. It applies to accessories and assemblies with the same configuration as IEC 62196-3:2014, having a rated operating voltage up to 1 500 V DC and a rated current up to 500 A. The Technical Specification covers devices that employ:
- thermal sensing, or
- thermal transport and thermal sensing (system architecture defined in clause 4.101).
