IEC TS 63499:2024 provides video encoding guidelines for the use of Interoperable Master Format (IMF) Application #6 defined in SMPTE ST 2067-60. These guidelines are applicable for any equipment which creates an IMF Image Track File using AVC/H.264 as the video codec.

IEC TS 63499:2024 provides video for using the defined in . It targets equipment that generates an using video compression (including support for profiles such as for 3840 × 2160). The Technical Specification explains how AVC/H.264 streams are mapped into IMF assets (MXF OP1a frame-wrapped image track files) and gives recommended codec constraints and parameter-set placement practices to optimize playback, editing and interoperability.
