Of the test methods presented (strength test for the structure, endurance test), only some may be required depending on the type of tyre to be tested. The tests are carried out in a laboratory under controlled conditions. Applies to all truck and bus tyres.

Overview
ISO 10454:1993 - "Truck and bus tyres - Verifying tyre capabilities - Laboratory test methods" specifies laboratory procedures to verify the structural and service capabilities of truck and bus tyres. The standard applies to all truck and bus tyres and defines controlled, repeatable and test methods used to assess tyre behaviour under braking energy and prolonged service at rated loads and speeds. ISO 10454:1993 is intended for verification, not for grading tyre performance levels.
