The standard covers identification and labelling, applicable remanufacturing processes, and the information that must accompany remanufactured components. It aims to improve product quality, promote reuse, and support sustainability objectives (resource conservation, reduced emissions and energy savings) in the earth‑moving machinery sector.

Quality and safety: The remanufacturer must ensure the core meets remanufacturability criteria, verify completion of safety improvement programs, and provide service information when needed (e.g., altered torque specifications).

Design and lifecycle considerations: Encourages design for remanufacturability and defines related terms (core, remanufacturable parts, directly usable parts, recyclable material).

Applications

Ensures consistent, verifiable quality for remanufactured components used in excavators, loaders, graders and other earth‑moving equipment.

Useful for OEMs, authorized remanufacturers, maintenance shops, fleet managers, procurement teams and sustainability officers implementing circular‑economy practices.

Supports compliance with regulatory and customer sustainability reporting, and helps standardize remanufacture labelling for resale, warranty and service traceability.
