- Paints and varnishes - specifies a laboratory method to determine the of coatings using a (pendulum-damping apparatus). The standard defines how to apply a coating to a test panel, mount a rigid-body pendulum with a knife edge, heat the sample in a temperature-controlled block, and record the change in oscillation to identify when curing begins.
