ISO 12154:2014 specifies a method for rapid and efficient determination of the skeleton density of solid material samples of regular or irregular shape, whether powdered or in one piece, by means of a gas displacement pycnometer.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 12154:2014 specifies a standardized method for rapid determination of of solid materials using gas displacement . The method applies to samples of regular or irregular shape, either powdered or in one piece. Skeleton density (mass divided by the solid skeleton volume) is measured by expanding an inert analysis gas (commonly ) between a sample chamber and a reference chamber under isothermal conditions and recording equilibrated pressures.
