ISO 1272:2000 - Essential oils - Determination of content of phenols - specifies a standardized volumetric procedure for measuring the in essential oils. The method converts phenolic compounds to their water‑soluble alkaline phenates and determines the volume of oil remaining unabsorbed. ISO 1272:2000 is the second edition, replacing the 1973 version, and is intended for laboratory quality control and analytical verification.
