Half‑classes allowed (e.g., 3‑4 = 3.5) for intermediate assessments.

Observers and results:

Multiple observers recommended; record individual scores and report the mean for each attribute.
If observers differ by ≥1 class, re‑evaluation is required; unresolved dissensus must be reported as minimum/maximum plus the mean.

Supporting tools:

Photographic rating standards can be used by agreement between parties; any deviations or extreme‑condition evaluations must be recorded.

Reporting: Test reports must reference ISO 12945‑4:2020 and include specimen description, number of specimens and observers, rounded mean classes, any photographic standards used, extreme conditions, and any deviations or unusual observations.
