Abstract
Overview
ISO 12986-2:2014 specifies a standardized four-point bending method to determine the flexural strength of carbon and solid graphite materials used for prebaked anodes and cathode blocks in aluminium production. The procedure is carried out at room temperature (10 °C to 35 °C) and defines test setup, specimen preparation, measurement, calculation and reporting requirements to ensure comparable and reproducible strength data.
