This document specifies the general characteristics of grooved pins, made of steel and stainless steel, with nominal diameters 1 mm to 25 mm. These grooved pins are designed to fulfil the main following functions, due to the elastic fit behaviour of the grooves: — locking of two (or more) parts, — positioning or guiding, — relative rotation of the assembled parts.

ISO 13669:2025 - Fasteners - Grooved pins - General requirements defines the general characteristics, functional behavior and basic requirements for grooved pins made of steel and stainless steel with nominal diameters 1 mm to 25 mm. The standard covers geometry (ends, groove shapes), dimensional tolerances, expanded diameter requirements, assembly principles, mechanical properties (shear, hardness), inspection, marking and labelling. ISO 13669 is intended to ensure reliable elastic-fit locking, positioning/guiding and controlled relative rotation of assembled parts.
