Textiles — Determination of the slippage resistance of yarns at a seam in woven fabrics — Part 2: Fixed load method
ISO 13936-2:2004 is intended for the determination of the resistance offered by thread systems of woven fabric, to slippage at a sewn seam. The method described is suitable for all apparel and upholstery woven fabrics, stretch fabrics (including those containing elastomeric yarn).
ISO 13936-2:2004 - "Textiles - Determination of the slippage resistance of yarns at a seam in woven fabrics - Part 2: Fixed load method" specifies a laboratory method to measure seam slippage (yarn movement at a sewn seam) for apparel, upholstery and stretch woven fabrics (including elastomeric yarns). The standard defines specimen preparation, sewing conditions, the test principle (fixed load applied by a CRE tensile machine) and reporting requirements so manufacturers and test labs can quantify seam opening under load.
