Overview
ISO 14617-7:2002, "Graphical symbols for diagrams - Part 7: Basic mechanical components," is an international standard that defines a harmonized set of graphical symbols used in technical diagrams for mechanical and fluid-handling systems. Part 7 covers symbols for (weights, springs, clutches, brakes, cams), (restrictors, orifice plates, flow nozzles, venturi elements, vents, silencers), and (tanks, pressure/vacuum vessels, bunkers, gas holders). The standard is part of the series intended as a common symbol library for technical product and process documentation.
