This International Standard describes a procedure for the determination of the time to failure of a bonded joint, using a specimen which is statically loaded under specified conditions. This method can only be used for comparing adhesives, and the results cannot be used for design purposes

Number of specimens: At least five specimens per applied stress level.
Results reporting: Plot applied stress versus mean time to rupture on a logarithmic time scale. Record failure mode (faciès de rupture) per ISO 10365 and include full test details (adhesive ID, substrate prep, joint thickness, atmosphere, number tested, graph, failure types, date).
Limitations: Method is comparative; interlaboratory precision (fidelity) was not established in this edition.
