La présente Norme internationale décrit des méthodes manuelles d'échantillonnage des peintures, vernis et matières premières pour peintures et vernis. De tels produits comprennent les produits liquides et les produits qui, sans subir de modification chimique, peuvent se liquéfier lorsqu'ils sont soumis à la chaleur, ainsi que les produits en poudre, en granulés ou en pâte. Les échantillons peuvent être prélevés de récipients tels que bidons, fûts, réservoirs, conteneurs, wagons-citernes ou réservoirs de navires, ainsi que de tonneaux, grands sacs, sacs, silos ou wagons silos ou à partir de bandes transporteuses.
