Abstract
Overview
ISO 15534-1:2000 - Ergonomic design for the safety of machinery - Part 1: Principles for determining the dimensions required for openings for whole-body access into machinery - provides principles for specifying minimum dimensions of access openings that allow whole‑body entry into machines. The standard links anthropometric data (from ) to practical allowances for clothing, tools, PPE and movement so designers can size openings safely. It is primarily aimed at and identifies when to use P95 or P99 anthropometric percentiles (P99 for emergency egress).
