Abstract
Overview
ISO 16654:2001/Amd 2:2023 is an important international standard that addresses the microbiological detection of Escherichia coli O157 in food and animal feeding stuffs. This second amendment enhances the original horizontal method by introducing mandatory performance testing guidelines for all culture media and reagents used in the detection process. Developed by ISO Technical Committee TC 34 and its Subcommittee SC 9, this update ensures consistency, reliability, and accuracy in laboratory testing practices worldwide.
