Overview
ISO 18626:2021 - "Information and documentation - Interlibrary loan transactions" - is the third-edition international standard that defines a modern, web-friendly protocol for handling interlibrary loan (ILL) requests and message exchanges. Designed to replace older ISO ILL protocols (ISO 10160 / ISO 10161), ISO 18626 specifies the structure and flow of ILL transactions using XML and web service–compatible transports to support current library resource-sharing workflows.
