ISO 19070:2016 specifies a method to determine the amount of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) in leather and leather components. This method may also be used for the determination of N-ethyl-2-pyrrolidone (NEP) in leather.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 19070:2016 sets out an internationally recognized method for the chemical determination of and leather components. Developed by ISO in collaboration with IULTCS (International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies) and CEN, this standard provides laboratories, regulatory bodies, and manufacturers with a reliable approach to monitor and control NMP content in leather products. ISO 19070:2016 also extends its applicability to the determination of , supporting both compliance and product safety objectives.
