Apparatus

- Safety devices such as relief valves or bursting discs (operating example: 3.5 MPa) are specified.
Procedure
- Prepare specimens per ISO 19095‑2 and condition per ISO 19095‑1.
- Place samples in a pressure vessel avoiding contact with liquid water; add controlled water volume (e.g., 10–20 ml in a 300 ml vessel).
- Heat to target temperature, purge air at ~100 °C to establish steam atmosphere, maintain for the chosen test period (examples in Annex A: 120 °C for 96–288 h).
- Cool, re‑condition and evaluate per ISO 19095‑3 (e.g., tensile testing).
Reporting
- Test reports must reference ISO 19095‑6:2021 and include specimen identification, heating temperature, duration and operation date.
